About Us
"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." — Matthew 25:40
Albergue Adventista is a home providing free lodging to parents and companions of children hospitalized at Hospital Nacional de Niños Benjamín Bloom. Our goal is to reduce the economic and emotional burden on families during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Our Story
Hospital Nacional de Niños Benjamín Bloom in El Salvador is the only public hospital specialized in pediatric care, serving low-income families from across the country.
Relatives of hospitalized children face the difficult reality of spending cold, harsh nights outside the hospital walls. They wait in hallways or on the sidewalk, hoping that when dawn breaks they will receive good news about their loved ones. This struggle affects families from every region of El Salvador, as well as people from neighboring countries — Guatemala and Honduras — who travel to this hospital seeking care.
To address this need, on October 28, 2016, a group of families from the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the Miramonte neighborhood took the initiative to create a shelter, after receiving a house as a donation from a very special family.

Renovation Begins
After much prayer, planning, meetings, and fundraising efforts, renovation work began with a clear vision of what a safe and dignified shelter should look like.
